Here is an analysis of temperatures at 14Z Feb 12, 2021 over
central Montana. I have circled areas where the temperature was -35F
or colder.
In the URMA analysis at the same time, the coldest temperature
was -34.1F, in the small purple area near the center of the map, in
Meagher County. While there is a colder contoured area in north
central Montana, it was only -32. The colder areas were pretty well
represented with several stations reporting...not just a single site
reporting a cold temperature.
